About Dr. Chantal Esnault

Dr Chantal Esnault is an experienced and compassionate Perinatal and Reproductive Psychiatrist who has worked in mental health for over 20 years. She prides herself on her collaborative, empathetic, inclusive and interactive style of engagement.

 

‘It’s a privilege to support people through their emotional and mental health challenges. Finding the right ‘fit’ in your health care provider is important so that you feel supported, safe, empowered and confident that you are receiving expert and empathetic care.’

 

Chantal completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with first class honours at Monash University, Melbourne. She worked and trained at Alfred Health before completing her fellowship at The Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne to follow her passion in women’s and perinatal mental health.

 

She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and has a Masters of Psychological Medicine from Monash University. She has worked in a variety of settings including public and private mental health services.

Currently she works in private practice at NEST Family Clinic, Elsternwick.

 

Away from work, she enjoys spending time with her children, family and friends.

Whether you're planning a pregnancy, having difficulties with fertility or loss,  experiencing a difficult pregnancy, having postnatal challenges, raising children or navigating midlife transitions, Dr Chantal Esnault is here to support your mental health with sensitivity and care. Chantal offers collaborative care that integrates empathic, inclusive and therapeutic engagement with evidence-based treatment options such as various talking therapies and expert medication management (if needed) so that you feel supported at every stage.

Type 1 Diabetes (Special Interest)

If you’re juggling the daily challenges of managing your own Type 1 Diabetes or that of a loved one or trying to adjust to a new diagnosis, Dr Esnault is here to support your mental health. With her own lived experience and mental health expertise she is in a position to understand the complexities of managing your condition as well as the mental health load and challenges that can present themselves.
